Some one might hire a chauffeur because maybe they are crippled so they need to hire some one that can drive for them. Chauffeur means some one that drives for some one else.
3. Which of the following is an example of something that radiates? Explain.
· A piece of wood.
· The sun. The sun radiates energy to the earth. Radiate means to go out in a direct line from a central point or area, and a piece of wood can not radiate.
4. Give an example of something that can be salvaged.
Cargo can be salvaged. To salvage is to save some thing in need of help in danger.
5. Give an example of something is routine. Explain.
I brush my teeth every day, this is a routine because I do it every day. A routine is a regular way of doing things in a particular order
6. Which of the following is an example of something that could be wobbly? Explain.
· The leg of a chair. A leg of a chair could be wobbly because maybe one of the legs is missing so moves around because it
has nothing to hold it steady. a stair case is attached to the floor and has a flat surface witch causes it to stand steadily.
· A staircase.
7. Which of the following is an example of someone who is reliable? Explain.
· A firefighter. A fire fighter is reliable because their job is to help. Your worst enemy will not help you because of their hate for you so they would not want to help you. Reliable means able to be trusted to do or provide what is needed
· Your worst enemy.
8. Would you want to be known as a subject or a leader? Explain.
I would want to be a leader because they are In charge and are not following a leader, but leading.
9. Give an example of someone you are fond of. Why are you fond of them?
I am fond of my friend jane. I am fond of her because she has a good sense of humor. She is nice loyal and a very good friend. Fond means feeling or showing love or friendship.
10. Have you misplaced something? If so, what was it and how did you find it?
Once I put my my book in a cabinet instead of my shelf. I found it by re tracing my steps. Misplace means to put (something) in the wrong place to lose (something) for a short time by forgetting where you put it
FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE
1. “His eyes are constantly waving the white flag of surrender, but I am like the gunfighter in the Old West. I walk around with my words drawn, ready to fire.” (page 13)

Quote This means his dad it calling truce he is trying to say sorry for what he has done. C.J. wont except his apology and when he has the chance to say something he will.

When C.J. say this he means he is still remembering how his dad left and it is over powering him. It was all he though about it was to much for him to take.

Zuri is worried about her adopted pretend dog leaving because her dad left and she is still traumatized about her dad leaving.

C.J. Is feeling Sad unknowing depressed clueless. He is trying to explain what he is gonna tell his dad when he get the chance to tell him all his feeling and ask these questions.

CJ is trying to say he dad took his place when reading to Zuri is his routine with her. That now his sister now wants his father to read to him instead of C.J.

Byron's response to his fathers return is he is happy to see his father return and is willing to forgive and forge, But C.J. Is mad and is not willing to forging.

What has changed in C.J's life is their routine without their father. What has not changed is his thoughts on his father.
9. Why doesn’t Zuri’s picture have a door?
Zuri's picture doesn't have a door because her dad left them and the door was how he got out so she didn't put doors because she didn't want him to leave again.

Grandmomma's motive in assigning the place cards around the table is she wants C.J. sit next to his dad so they can talk and finally for C.J. to forgive his father.
